Libby’s coaching has helped me develop as a leader through some of the toughest leaderships challenges I have faced to date, and bring out the best in myself. Every moment with Libby is valued, and treasured. I feel comfortable and confident bringing my toughest problems to Libby, knowing she will help guide me through them leaving me optimistic and excited.

I am not afforded many opportunities to discuss my goals and related hurdles. Having conversations with Libby created an opportunity for me to talk some things through. The sessions did also provide a sort of “therapy” where I not only could hear myself talking but also forced me to stop and consider my goals. Typically I am so focused on getting things done and/or ensuring others on my team are properly supported and getting their things done that I leave little time for considering goals and progress. Libby helped me understand some things that might be getting in my way and establishing more concrete steps to move forward.

The first great lesson Libby helped me to internalize was how to “fail forward” and the second great lesson she helped me internalize was the failure doesn’t have to be an option when you can pivot and re-frame the situation. Libby was an amazing listener who really, truly listened to everything I was saying and not saying. She always asked the the right questions to really challenge my thought process and pushed me to move past mental hurdles. Perhaps the most important perspective she imparted on me, is that your career doesn’t have to be what you do from 9-5, but can be comprised of so much more and your life outside of work hours.

I wanted to take a moment to thank you for your invaluable guidance and support during my time at Twist. I learned to voice my concerns outward and not keep them internal. Your insights and expertise have been instrumental in my personal and professional growth, and I am incredibly grateful for the time and effort you invested in my career development.

I really valued the opportunity to speak with Libby about my career journey and to use our time to focus on what work I like to do and what I would like out of my career. Having time by myself to think about these questions is helpful, but Libby’s insights, feedback and resources have been very valuable.

My coach, Libby, really helped me to see myself and critically view myself and my behaviors. A lot of what I thought were helpful traits and tendencies were actually contributing a lot to my stresses and anxieties. Not only did Libby help me identify them, but she helped me to work through ways to be more mindful of my behaviors and of how to work around them. Libby has been a fantastic coach, mentor, and friend over the last six months. I feel like I have grown immeasurably with her help.

The day after we spoke I had a positive interaction with the exec we were speaking about. I asked if he had a few more min and said I felt that we just had a really good team interaction but I didn’t feel like everything was going that way, that I wanted to be a good team, and wasn’t certain how to make things work. This opened the door to a breakthrough conversation where I learned he was having very similar feelings and we made some good progress in moving forward. I feel like it really broke the log jam and we are on our way to a healthier relationship. Thank you for being a sounding board in working through my own thinking and finding a strategy to have the conversation.

The biggest highlight of my experience at Georgetown was coaching with Libby. So much of that is directly and indirectly the result of the kindness, caring and wisdom that you have bestowed on me and my colleagues. Know that you have certainly touched my life — and in doing so, you are and will for years to come be touching countless other lives through all I have gained from you.
